Studies on inhibition of metal corrosion has been a very active field which spans across Science, Engineering and various Technological endeavours. Aqueous solvents and microbial induced corrosion has received tremendous attention in the past decades. Several models have been employed in the characterization of corrosion inhibition phenomena both kinetically and thermodynamically. Corrosion scientists and engineers have also exploited different adsorption models to understand and explain quantitatively and qualitatively the mechanism of adsorption (which is the phenomenon underlying formation of protective layer leading to the corrosion inhibition process).In this issue, these models shall be employed to characterize corrosion inhibition by new substances such as organic, inorganic, organometallic substances as well as dyestuffs and extracts of plants. This issue also welcomes original research papers in corrosion and adsorption studies describing existing and new approaches to elucidation of mechanism of inhibition. Major areas that papers will be accepted include Corrosion Inhibition, Adsorption characterization, Application of models to describe corrosion inhibition, Comparative studies using Existing and New approaches to corrosion inhibition, Solvatochromatic studies on corrosion, Molecular modeling of corrosion inhibition process, Computational approaches, etc.The papers published in this issue may cover various fields in Science, Engineering and Technology.
